Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen made a brief appearance at The Row’s Paris Fashion Week Show on Wednesday.
A select few showgoers managed to catch a glimpse of the mysterious twin fashion designers as they presided over the presentation of their label’s newest collection and smiled broadly as they did so.
The 36-year-old twins, dressed identically in black, sat on a spiral staircase and applauded as their models walked the runway in their latest designs.
Another audience member caught the Olsens clapping along with the rest of the crowd and reveling in the applause. They even exchanged brief congratulatory embraces.
An Instagram user named @StyleNotCom reported on the event, adding that fruit, coffee, and diet water were served to guests upon arrival and departure. The pair also revealed that Elvis Presley and Chris Isaak were featured on the show’s soundtrack.
The new collection from The Row features oversized jackets, several stunning dresses with crochet details, satin flair, and even Bermuda shorts. The Row is known for its timeless designs and clean lines, and this collection, the label’s second showing at Paris Fashion Week, did not disappoint. However, the Olsen twins added silliness to this collection by incorporating purposeful wrinkles and a slightly messier styling aesthetic.
Mary-Kate and Ashley have both chosen to live modest profiles in recent years, and this understated attitude is reflected in their collections.
While discussing their company, The Row, with i-D last June, Mary-Kate mentioned that she and her sister Ashley were raised to value privacy.
When asked about The Row’s low-key aesthetic, Mary-Kate cited her upbringing as the reason for the brand’s understated approach.

It may just be our taste in design, Ashley speculated. This, however, does not negate our appreciation for the truly grandiose and extravagant. Occasionally, that’s how a collection begins before it’s edited down. However, this doesn’t initially come from such a basic premise all the time.
