Marcell’s journey is fascinating. Born in Puerto Rico, and then raised in New Orleans, Dominique Marcell Collins took an interest in music at the age of 3. But his parents, who were strict, wouldn’t allow popular music in the house. Thus, Marcell was influenced by gospel music.

Later, he interned at Atlantic Records, Warner Brothers, and HBO, learning the business side of music. After taking two degrees from Northwestern University, he went to work on Wall Street in investment banking, where he achieved vast success. In the end, though, he couldn’t resist music’s Siren-song. He left Wall Street to chase his dream.

Dreams do come true. Marcell’s success led to features in HuffPost, BuzzFeed, Fox, Billboard, Popdust, and Black Enterprise.

Marcell’s sound amalgamates elements from pop, hip-hop, R&B, and dance music into scrumptious sonic concoctions bursting with muscular rhythms, cashmere infectious melodies, and chic lyricism.

Encompassing 10-tracks, U-Nique Destiny opens with “DTK,” riding a contagious pop melody flavored with dance-lite colors. Marcell’s voice injects the lyrics with suave erotic aromas.

Showcase tracks on the album include “I Do,” opening on cool stylish hues and undulating synths rife with oozing sensuality. A tight, potent rhythm adds to the song’s supple sexy flow, as Marcell’s velvety tones infuse the tune with sumptuous savors.

“Dirty Laundry” opens on a blend of hip-hop, R&B, and pop flavors. A thumping kick drum holds the bottom end of the rhythm, while iridescent oscillating synths exude colors shimmering with vivid energy.

The last track on the album, “Dreams,” highlights Marcell’s buttery voice, as it delivers lush teeming tones, low-slung yet powerfully tumescent. A tasty, smooth female voice supplements the tune’s seductive surface sheens.

Superbly wrought, U-Nique Destiny surges with contagious melodies across all ten tracks. The luscious voice of Dom Marcell is the icing on the cake.
